This exhibition will showcase works of varying dimensions across both floors of the gallery. Emmanuel Barcilon’s new body of work invites the viewer to explore painting and contemplate the real force of colour. Pure pigments and varnish are poured over a wooden support then sanded and reworked over time, each fresh coat never completely eliminating the previous one. Whilst first appearing as monochrome fields of solid colour, the works reveal subtle and intricate musings scrawled on their surface. Emmanuel Barcilon’s paintings offer a world of endless depth exploring the unsaid and unsayable.
