gallery rosenfeld is delighted to announce the opening of "Materia", a solo exhibition by Austrian sculptor Herbert Golser, curated by Riccardo Freddo. On until the 30th of June 2025, Perugia's historic Rocca Paolina will host Golser's incredible works for his first institutional show in Italy.
The sculptures on display reflect an almost pantheistic view of existence, in which art and nature merge in a visual meditation that escapes the dictates of time and fashion. In an age dominated by concept and speed, Golser chooses slowness, depth, and purity of gesture.
Golser's works are placed in conversation with Alberto Burri's Grande Nero, 1980 at Rocca Paolina.
This exhibition "Materia" invites a reflection on the fragility and strength of matter, where wood, carved with extreme delicacy, becomes almost immaterial. His sculptures silently dialogue with the stone of the Rocca Paolina, transforming the space into a place of listening and memory. In this context, the power of Alberto Burri's iron meets the transparency of Golser's wood, in a profound confrontation between weight and lightness. The show helps the viewer discover how each artist finds in the chosen material a unique voice, capable of narrating their vision of the world. An invitation to slow down and let the material speak-feel with the soul.
