gallery rosenfeld is delighted to announce Ioana Maria Sisea’s participation in the institutional group show “Far Away Worlds” at Villa Fidelia in Perugia, Italy. This show is the eighth edition of the Contemporary Art Exhibition "States of Art", dedicated in 2024 to travel, in the 700 years since the death of Marco Polo.
The exhibition will feature three of Ioana’s ceramic works from her past major solo exhibitions at both Gallery Rosenfeld and the Deruta Ceramics Museum. These past exhibitions delved into themes of political history wrought with controversy, humour, struggle, misogyny and power.
Sisea’s works draws attention to the political history of Romania in the late 1980s, symbolically told through the extraordinary story of Lache, the nation's largest bear.
The show will run from August 3rd - 8th September 2024
