Seldom have future expectations been so shaped by the idea of a collapsing world as these days. Fears about the consequences of the pandemic and worries about the climate and biodiversity are omnipresent. In addition, there is growing fear of the end of a human-dominated world, in which artificial intelligences remove control from the human species.

The project “Apokalypse und Weltrettung” throws the spotlight on these apocalyptic scenarios and at the same time examines the question of which major world saving ideas oppose them. With the interdisciplinary exhibition project and a one-year accompanying program, the viewer will be through current end-time scenarios and possible future horizons. In the group exhibition, a series of art, Architecture and design-related events are juxtaposed with current artistic confrontations with end-time fears and impending global catastrophes, possible rescue scenarios and utopian refuges.
