ARCOLisboa 2025: Booth A01

29 May - 1 June 2025

gallery rosenfels is thrilled to be  participating at the ARCOlisboa Fair in Lisbon, Portugal.

Booth A01 will be showcasing the diverse works of three versatile artists: Nuno Gil, Herbert Golser and Shuang Jiang.

Nuno Gil (Portuguese)
is a contemporary artist whose practice is deeply rooted in the botanical world. His work unfolds through a system of meticulously constructed shapes, balancing on the edge of figuration and abstraction. Each composition is the result of an intricate process involving the repetition of thousands of hand-cut elements, often using materials and techniques traditionally associated with craft—such as painted paper and embossed leather. These vast surfaces, covered in intricate, all-over patterns, become the foundation for a dynamic process of deconstruction and reconfiguration, generating an evolving visual language.

Herbert Golser (Austrian)
is a remarkable sculptor who works primarily with wood and marble, pushing these materials to their limits of fragility and flexibility. His organic forms feel both ancient and contemporary, revealing a deep sensitivity to material and process. Whether working with delicately carved wood or pristine white Arabic marble, Golser explores the tension between strength and vulnerability, continually challenging conventional boundaries. In contrast to the concept-heavy focus of much contemporary art, Golser's sculptures speak through form and material alone. His work reconnects us to the natural world, reminding us of its beauty and depth—arguably one of the most meaningful artistic gestures.

Shuang Jiang (Chinese)
is an artist whose practice spans painting, printmaking, installation, and video. Her work delves into the themes of fragility, resilience, and the interconnectedness between the individual and nature. Jiang’s pieces often feature figures derived from prints made on sheepskin, exploring her psychological states and the human condition. Through her art, she portrays the eternal cycles of decay and renewal that reflect both personal and universal truths. Jiang’s exploration of the tension between fragility and strength is deeply introspective, and her work invites viewers to engage with the elemental forces that shape life itself.

ARCOlisboa will take place from 29th May - 1st June at The Cordoaria Nacional on Avenida da Índia.
